HITN, the leading Spanish-language network that offers educational and entertainment content to more than 40 million households across the United States, announced today its partnership with Dicapta to make its programming more accessible to people with sensory disabilities. 

Winter Springs, December 9, 2021. Dicapta announced today that Nefertiti Matos Olivares has been appointed as the new Partnership Development Coordinator of the company and will assume responsibilities on December 13, 2021. She is a subject matter expert on access technology and cultural accessibility.

On November 18, Canal 22 Internacional, one of our great allies on accessibility in Spanish within the TVAccess project funded by the United States Department of Education, received the Outstanding Contribution in International Accessibility Award from the American Council for the Blind, Audio Description Awards.

On August 11, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Telecommunications Commission (FCC) will conduct a national test of emergency alerts. If you are deaf, blind, and/or have hearing or visual disabilities, your help will be very important to inform the FCC about accessibility problems in receiving these alerts.

Today, we want to celebrate our friend and advisor, Susan LaVenture, who has been elected President of the North America/Caribbean Region (2021-2024) for the International Council for the Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI).
