We invite you to join our Latinos4Access Facebook group, where we will be presenting our first “Watch Party Para Ti” next Friday, January 28, at 7 p.m. ET. We will start our Watch Parties with the wonderful Oscar-nominated and award winner film: Feeling Through.

It will be the first time this film is presented in Spanish and with open captions and audio description. Its director, Doug Roland, will be with us and will answer questions from the audience. This Watch Party Para Ti will also be an opportunity to talk about audio description and get to know each other a little better.

The goal of Latinos4Access is to bring together movie and TV lovers, most of whom are blind or visually impaired, to discuss, give their opinions, and share audio-described audiovisual content resources in Spanish. It is a fact that audio description in Spanish is much less prevalent than audio description in English, and although there is some content audio described in Spanish, it is not easy to find information about its availability.

The lack of FCC legislation specifically on audio description in Spanish in the United States makes the road difficult. Our goal is that the legislation equally covers AD in Spanish and AD in English. With your help, we hope we can make a difference.

Do not miss our first Watch Party Para Ti! We will have many more on the last Friday of each month. You will find the registration information for this great party once you join the Latinos4Access group by following this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/latinos4access.
