Season 6 of "Bare Feet With Mickela Mallozzi," Is Available with AD

The most recent season of "Bare Feet With Mickela Mallozzi" is premiering with audio description created by Dicapta and will be available on PBS stations and the PBS Passport app. "Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi" is a captivating Emmy Award-Winning television series that embarks on a journey around the globe, exploring the rich tapestry of world cultures through the universal language of dance. With a mission to "experience the world, one dance at a time" the show is the brainchild of professional dancer and musician, Mickela Mallozzi. This series has delved into several dance forms, from the passionate Tango in Argentina to the graceful Waltz in Vienna, and even the lesser-known Scottish Hogmanay dance.

But "Bare Feet," is not just about the dance; Mickela immerses herself in the artistic expressions and cultural intricacies of each region she visits. In the newest season the show takes viewers on a journey throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City, where Mickela Mallozi will visit different communities and learn their unique dances. The unique blend of dances and cultures has made "Bare Feet" a must-watch series that beautifully celebrates the diversity and interconnectedness of the world through the art of dance.

Highlights of Mallozzi's dance adventures in New York City this season included traveling the boroughs to experience the city's Hispanic and Latinx communities, delving into the dance traditions of the largest Garifuna community in the United States and engaging with the Sri Lankan Dance Academy. She also connected with Arab-American communities by learning Algerian Rai with Esraa Warda, explored Bay Ridge's "Little Middle East" in Brooklyn, celebrated a Palestinian wedding with the Freedom Dabka Group, and joined in the festivities of Carnival in Brooklyn's Little Caribbean neighborhood by taking outdoor dance classes, among others.

"Season 6 is a continuation of the dance adventures I had started throughout the five boroughs of NYC from Season 5," says Mallozzi. "These episodes are a never-ending love letter to my city and its incredibly diverse communities. I’m so grateful for the support not only from the New York Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment for co-producing yet another season in New York but also to all of the New Yorkers who shared their culture through dance and music with me, and now my viewers, across the country! THIS is what New York City means to me!"
