The John Templeton Foundation - “SEARCHING: Our Quest for Meaning in the Age of Science.”

Where do we fit in the grand scheme of things? The quest for meaning is one that every human starts one day in his or her life, and a fundamental part of our experience as a species. In Searching, our quest for meaning in the age of science, MIT physicist and best-selling novelist Alan Lightman will explore fundamental questions about the nature of humanity in three-hour-long specials.

The series presents a series of meetings and conversations between Lightman and Nobel Prize-winning scientists, philosophers, ethicists, and faith leaders. Lightman will meet several astounding thinkers in his worldwide journey for truth, including an advanced android named Bina48, philosopher Rebecca Goldstein and the Dalai Lama himself.

It will consist of three chapters: "The Stars & The Osprey," "The Big & The Small," and "Homo Techno". Each will explore our connection to the universe, our place among the cosmos, and how technology will affect who we are, respectively.
