Enhancing Accessibility: Spanish Captions Added to the Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Game "Bathrooms"

Cartoon tigers from Daniel Tiger, one adult and one child, stand in front of a restroom with a toilet icon and "Bathrooms" in bold red letters. The restroom is accessible, with a wheelchair symbol. The tigers wear blue and red jackets, respectively. We are excited to share that the beloved Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood game, "Bathrooms," ins now inclusive for deaf and hard of hearing children who communicate in Spanish. The game, which allows children to explore various types of bathrooms, including a home bathroom, a train station bathroom, and even a porta potty, is now available in Spanish on the PBS KIDS Games app. Even better, the Spanish version of the game now features captions in Spanish, making it more inclusive for children and families who prefer to engage with the content in their native language.

At Dicapta, we are proud to have played a role in this important update by creating the Spanish captions for this game. This effort is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing accessibility in children's media, ensuring that all children can enjoy and learn from these valuable resources.

The game also features an accessible toilet stall and porta potty, aligning with our shared goal of promoting inclusivity and accessibility in all aspects of children’s experiences. The addition of Spanish captions is just one of the necessary steps being to make these games more accessible. Little by little, accessibility assets are being integrated across various games, ensuring that no child is left behind.

In addition to the work on the Daniel Tiger game, we also had the pleasure of creating captions for several of Alma’s Way games. Both projects underscore the importance of making educational content accessible to a diverse audience, and we are thrilled to be part of this journey.

Stay tuned as we continue to collaborate with creators to bring more accessibility features to children’s games and media!
