Making the IAFFM Accessible for People With Sensory Disabilities

 

The 5th annual Iberoamerican Film Festival Miami IAFFM will take place in Miami, Florida from the 24th to the 29th of January, 2023.

Every year, the IAFFM seeks to promote the Best US, LatinX, and IberoX Feature Films, Shorts And Documentaries. This 2023, the guest country will be Argentina. Accordingly, the opening performance will be the film El Gerente by Ariel Winogard, starring Leonardo Sbaraglia and Carla Peterson.

In collaboration with Canal 22 International, and funded by the US Department of Education, Dicapta will present a number of films at the IAFFM with audio description (AD), captions (CC), and American Sign Language (ASL). The accessible selection includes the short films Manantial and Mi Casa, the documentary María Izquierdo: Mujer y artista, and the film Mesa de Tareas. Filmmakers, writers, and the public will have the opportunity to learn more about the art of Audio Description during the Panel Discussion "Para que Veas."

About the IAFFM 

The IAFFM held its first edition in 2016 as the Indie Pasión Festival. It started as a one-day event and has grown into six full days packed with screenings, forums, special events, and networking mixers.
