Dicapta Joins the Global Accessibility Awareness Day by Launching an Awareness Campaign

Today is the 7th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) and Dicapta is joining this awareness day by launching a campaign to inform Spanish-speaking children who are deaf, blind, deaf-blind or have some degree of hearing and vision impairment, and their parents, about the availability of audio description and closed caption services in Spanish and how they can access them.

As a part of our campaign, we have launched the website www.TVemos.us, that gives information about the networks providing fully accessible content- with captions and audio description in Spanish.  It also includes a significant sweepstakes program where 3 winners will be awarded Samsung tablets after giving their feedback on captioning and audio description services. Go ahead, give us your opinion and get a chance to be a winner!

We have also launched public service announcements on different television channels and radio stations.  The objective of our public service announcements is, again, to create awareness of availability in Spanish of captioning and audio description services.  The announcements have also been published, with full accessibility, on YouTube.

This campaign is a part of the effort of the US Department of Education and Dicapta to promote services with accessibility provided by some of the biggest names in Spanish language educational television, including Canal 22, Semillitas, Supereñe, and Discovery en la Escuela.

The purpose of GAAD is "to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital (web, software, mobile, etc.) access/inclusion and people with different disabilities."  We are glad to be active participants of the GAAD activities.
