Through the years, we have provided access to audiovisual media for people with sensory disabilities. We have worked closely with people who are deaf-blind and it has inspired us to find solutions for their needs.

Each person who is deaf-blind has unique needs as the degree of hearing and vision loss varies for each individual. The new app GoCC4All, by Dicapta Foundation, responds to these individual needs by allowing each person to receive information in a way that is best for them.

We will be using the nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) at 2:20 p.m. ET on September 28th, to perform our own evaluation of the GoCC4All app with a group of test users across the country who will use the app to receive the EAS alerts on their iOS smartphones.  Some of those users were referred to us by Deaf-Blind Citizens in Action (DBCA), an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with combined vision and hearing loss.  We thank our DBCA friends for their help in contacting members of their community for our test.

We look forward to hearing comments from our test users about the GoCC4All app and about the accessibility of the EAS test and we expect that GoCC4All will prove to be an excellent option to increase access to audiovisual media.
