NYC leads by example regarding accessibility. The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities was created in 1973. Its mission is to ensure that the rights and concerns of the community with disability are included in all City initiatives and that City programs and policies address the needs of people with disabilities. The DiCon conference is one of the many initiatives the city has regarding accessibility. To learn more about other initiatives check the AccessibilityNY.
